One organisation in North Cyprus whose main aim is to integrate cultures through art is Sidetreets Educational and Cultural Initiatives Ltd, (it’s known as Arasokaklar in Turkish). This initiative, based in Lefkoşa, has been active since October 2007, although the original concept had been in the pipeline for some years previous. Friends of SPOT, North Cyprus

SPOT, or the Society for the Protection of Turtles, is an organisation that has been involved in sea turtle monitoring and protection in North Cyprus since the late 1980s, and was originally founded by the late Ian Bell and his wife Celia.  The organisation subsequently became a registered charity in 1995.
