Comedy 100 & The Lambousa Comedy Club in North Cyprus

Comedy 100 & The Lambousa Comedy Club, North CyprusFor those of us who are not yet quite ready to hang up our boots in search of a good night out, you will be pleased to know there are those who seek to entertain us on a regular basis!

Comedy 100 has been going for a couple of years now and has successfully put North Cyprus on the map where seriously good entertainment is concerned, managing to entice some top comedians into making the journey to make us laugh on a regular basis.

Mike Armstrong and his partner Gordon Kent, whose family own the Chateau Lambousa Hotel in Lapta, came up with the idea and have since gone on to organise some very good comedy nights with packed out audiences, proving that perhaps we were in need of some good laughs!

Seasoned circuit comedians such as Hattie Hayridge (remember her from Red Dwarf fame?!), Nick Wilty, Rick Right, Andy Askings and John Mann have all given excellent performances in the past. The Lambousa Comedy Club has both indoor and outdoor venues, so whatever season it may be they can cater for a large audience with no problems.

Comedy 100 & The Lambousa Comedy Club, North CyprusThe indoor venue is perfect for this kind of event, complete with stage, large floor area and seated gallery as well as the obligatory bar! The outside venue is situated on the edge of the coastal headland belonging to the Celebrity Hotel (again owned by the Kent family) again complete with a handy bar on site – which works well for those summer gigs!

For £20 per person audiences are treated to three quality comedians with an additional comedian acting as compere for the evening, so we think it’s very good value for money considering that all the comedians are flown over from the UK especially for the night’s entertainment. If you have ever been to a comedy night in your home country then you will know that audience participation such as heckling and volunteering are all included in the price too!

You can find out about upcoming comedy nights via the press as they are normally very well advertised, or via Facebook if you are registered. Alternatively you can contact them on +90 (0)533 845 2548 or email comedy100@hotmail.com to find out when the next event will be.
