Started in 2004 the North Cyprus Friends of Karpaz Association is comprised of local residents and other interested parties who wish to protect the much coveted Karpaz region in North Cyprus. For many years now the area has been home to the rural way of Cypriot life and is one of the most ecologically diverse areas of the island of Cyprus. EMYR 2009 Comes To North Cyprus

Well it was all but a brief visit, but the arrival of the yachting fraternity to North Cyprus was a lovely spectacle to watch. The 2009 Eastern Mediterranean Yacht Rally descended on North Cyprus on Saturday 23rd May with boats arriving all morning into the New Harbour’s Delta Marina. Due to some issues with local boat owners not wishing to vacate the old harbour all the arriving yachts were moored at the new harbour, but it didn’t detract from the event, rather it served to drive home the popularity of the rally with being able to see all the boats in one place. Having been open for a couple of years now, there is still always time to be impressed by the Korineum Golf & Country Club in Esentepe, located to the east of Kyrenia. Its location is pretty spectacular too, tucked away in the foothills of the Beşparmak mountain range, with a vast golf course at 6,232 metres. Opening with a huge fanfare in early 2007 it can be safely said to be the most popular place to go for those who like a leisurely but complex round of golf! Read more

Formally opened in September 2008, its ethos is one of academic and personal growth, establishment of social skills combined with an excellent standard of education. Having now eaten at this super little restaurant umpteen times over the last year or so, we thought it was high time a review was written! Mani Peni’s is a small eatery located to the east of Kyrenia town centre, on the new harbour roundabout.
